Jo Garfield-Smith

Jo grew up in Devon and attended East Devon College taking an HND in Travel and Tourism. After various roles in the tourism industry from Travel Agent to Hotel Receptionist and then Hotel Team Management, she took a change of career path and worked for the NHS.

Starting at a GP surgery and then moving onto the main hospital, Jo’s experience with the public and management skills held her in good stead for the transition to the Research and Development Department at Torbay Hospital as a Clinical Trials coordinator for Ophthalmology, Stroke and Gastroenterology. Dealing with the fine details in contracts to setting up new drug studies, liaising with consultants, nursing staff and patients to ensure a smooth, efficient experience for all involved.

Now living in the Southeast of England, Jo is an avid walker, a member of the RSPB and loves gardening and travelling.
