Louise qualified as a social worker in 2001, completing a BSc in Social Work and Applied Social Studies at the University of Bath. She has 23 years of post-qualification experience. Louise worked in a range of social care teams, gaining experience in social care assessments, care planning, mental capacity assessments and NHS Continuing Healthcare. Louise has a range of experience across adult social care including experience of Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Condition and Neurodiversity. Louise has a range of experience in locality teams supporting adults with community reablement, those with complex needs and more recently hospital settings.
Louise has also undertaken post graduate social work training. she moved into management of adult social care teams in 2011 and qualified as a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) in 2015. Louise has worked as an independent social worker since 2016. She has extensive experience in mental capacity assessments and COP3 assessments for deputyship applications. Louise has experience of making applications to the Court of Protection for adults appealing a Deprivation of Liberty authorisation or welfare decisions. Louise assisted in co-chairing the Preparing for Adulthood transition panel and has experience of NHS Continuing Healthcare, acting as a Local Authority Representative for NHS England Independent Review Appeal Panels. Louise also completes social care need assessments as part of the SEND Tribunal process.
Louise enjoys spending time with her family in Dorset, days out at the beach and taking care of two guinea pigs.
